Do you think the blackberry smartphone series is dead? Then think twice. After the Show off by the Blackberry CEO John Chen, pictures of the new phone; Blackberry Passport, which blackberry hopes to make it a relevant contender in the smartphone market has been going around the internet . We hope the phone is as good as it looks in pictures. Also a white version of the blackberry passport has been leaked by a twitter user @Pootermobile.
As usual the blackberry passport has a QWERTY keypad which according to someone who claims to have used the device allows you to press on the keys to type letters, while numbers and punctuation appear on the touchscreen, depending on what is being typed. In other words, there will be virtual keys that appear based on context. If you're surfing the web, you will have the opportunity to press virtual keys for the colon and the slash required to type out a URL address. But your choices will be different depending on how you are using the phone.
The phone runs blackberry O.S 10.2.1, has a RAM of 3GB and is also expected to release by September this year.
What do you think about the Blackberry Passport design? Do you think Blackberry can make a come back into the smartphone market with this new phone?
've been using my Passport since Dec 2014 bought here https://jiji.ng/mobile-phones/blackberry-passport. It's amazing. I've dropped it more times than I can count and the glass is perfect! It's rugged and fast and dependable.....always. The only drawback is that some products that speak to your phone, like security cameras etc., are not compatible with my passport. I think that is changing with the new blackberry phones coming out. Anyway...remember that it was Blackberry who pioneered the smartphone.....it wasn't Apple. Blackberry is a solid product.
