For some time now Blackberry phones in Nigeria have had to compete with Android phones especially the low price Tecno Phones. Android phones now have the almighty Blackberry messenger which operates almost like the BBM on Blackberry phones. So why still go for a Blackberry phone if you can get BBM and other better applications and games on the Android platform? Blackberry seems to be answering this question through one of its new phone; the Z3 which is set to release very soon.
After successfully launching the Z3 in Indonesian and Indian markets Blackberry now has its eyes on the Nigerian market. In an industry dominated by phones below ₦18,000, will the Z3 be able to compete.
It all depends on you(yes you!). Are you willing to dump your Android phone for a ₦40,000 Z3 with 5 megapixel back camera and 1.1 megapixel front camera? Will you dump your Android phone for a phone with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal memory which also runs the latest BB 10.2.1 OS? If you are an existing Blackberry user I don't think this will be a big problem for you unless you've being thinking of buying an Android phone
